Today’s challenge was to list ten apps that you would like to use. Claudia emphasizes that it does not matter if they already exist or not, but just to think about what would be useful to you in particular.
As someone who is determined to create a successful app in her lifetime, I loved this one. However, I struggled a lot more than I thought I would. The first three ideas are apps that I had already thought of and have considered either developing myself (teaching myself to code right now, innit) or getting an actual professional to do it for me, which is probably the better idea, let’s be honest.
Then, I was stumped. As if I could not think of ten app ideas! Then I panicked less and reminded myself the the aim of the exercise was not to come up with ten ideas for NEW apps, but just apps that I would find useful. So my creative juices began to flow (with a 5 km run thrown in at Idea #8 for good measure) and voila, I now have ten.
By app number 8, I hit a massive wall (hence the 5 km run) and was close to asking my partner for ideas but stopped myself, considering that would be cheating and the whole point of this exercise is to exercise my depleting brain cells (for those potential employers reading: I’m joking, I actually have a big brain with many brain cells).
Whether I have an idea for the next Uber or Tinder is another question (again, investors… I do). Admittedly, the final three ideas for apps are a little far-fetched, but they are on paper and they are ideas.
Day two done. Already feeling like the next Mark Zuckerberg.
